Federal appeals court Judge Barbara Lagoa is among the two women that President Trump is said to be considering for nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Lagoa of Miami was the first Cuban American to serve on Florida’s Supreme Court, having been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2019 before Trump chose her for the U.S. 11th Circuit of Appeals late in that year.
